December 29, 2014

it was great this last week to see and talk to mom, dad, Jon, spencer and kellie! Sadly the whole conference call didn't work out but you will all just have to wait for a few more days! haha so mom and dad some of the things that I would like to pass to you are: 1st off I talked with the secretary of the mission and has told me that President Hathaway has to release by phone for you to come and pick me up. if not then I still have to live at the same standard of missionary life obeying all the rules, so it makes no sense for me not to be released. we also cannot leave the boundaries of the mission. He still has not responded to my first email, So I am going to send another email to president hathaway and the mission is going to call president hathway too because president hathaway has to have a reason why he doesn't want to release me and then we will resolve it. If you would like to call and talk to president hathaway as well would be a good idea. here is the email to the mission office if you need to contact them    2011816@ldschurch.org
2nd for hotel there is another option. there is a member that he has a nice apartment in the center and  he invited us to just stay there. it has 4 bedrooms and only him and mom live there! throughout the day they are not there because they are working so we would never bother them! they work in the temple, are very faithful members, and they would love to have us. I baptized his soon to be father in law! If you don't like that option then just book the hotel that was recomended. 3rd about consercretated oil, I was thinking vials that are metal that you can put around your keychain! 4th as far as I have found out you don't need to bring your temple clothes here.

I have already gone over time so just to let you know the work is going great you all don't have to worry it will all work out.

December 22, 2014

Whooo! it's the most wonderful time of the year! so about the whole release thing, I have to be released to go to the beach with my recent convert that wants to take us there, go to the imax theater that another recent convert wants to take us to. It is true I would have to stay in a white shirt and tie... so I will write him an email and explain to him what we want to do and that I will be in his office on the 20th to talk to him face to face. haha I will talk with him to see the things he is worried about and it will work out. so I will be calling 3 oclock our time, ( which is 11 o clock your time!!) Today send the NAME of the Skype Account that you will use!

So this week was a good week! We had a mission conference, went to the temple with our principles of the gospel class, Hosana and Jeysa were baptized in our ward and I went back to Capão da imbuia to baptize Luciane! I became a little sick and my body is just really tired but I'm just gonna keep working! Something that was truely strengthened this last week was the power that the word of God has! luciane was in a little bit of doubt to be baptized but determined, we started to strenghthen her with the scriptures! Elder hunter, who is in Capão with my last comp, used one verse and it truely changed luciane in that moment! I know that one verse is worth a lot more than 1000 opinions! it gives the strength to silience the tools of satan!
Yea, we see that whosoever will may lay hold upon the word of God, which is quick and powerful, which shall divide asunder all the cunning and the snares and the wiles of the devil, and lead the man of Christ in a strait and narrow course across that everlasting gulf of misery which is prepared to engulf the wicked— (helaman 3: 29)
I know this to be true! I love all of you and am excited to see you all this thursday!!

I am so grateful that I am back here in the city pinhais! haha the area is awesome! the members are good! And I love my companion! he is great! Elder Romano! haha the zone is going well also! ha the only thing is that we have 5 senior missionaries in our zone and some of them are starting to be really trunky. Ha But I just have to continue onward! I know that when we serve the Lord with all that we have and with good intent, we are blessed with incredible blessings and the greatest happiness that we can receive! I love you all and I hope you all are excited for the 25th!!! haha to think of a time of day that you want me to call and I will call. on monday I will only confirm what time on email, so be ready.

December 8, 2014

hey everybody! It was great to here that Mike briggs went stake conference! How was stake conference? I hope to here from all the rest of you this next week! Mom and dad have you already talked to the stake president about releasing me through the telephone on the 10th of january? and what time will you two arrive in curitiba on the 10th of january? the secretary would like to know.

WHOOO I am now back in the city of Pinhais! haha tarumã zone was divided this last week and I am now zone leader of pinhais zone! haha I am now in the emiliano perneta area with a new zone leader elder Romano! he is great! I am going to love this transfer! elder romano is from Argentina and he lives close to the polar ice cap! haha the area is great! Members are good here and I am just really excited! we had a baptism this Sunday and I am excited to just Sprint to the Finish!
1 nephi 13 says the following
39 And after it had come forth unto them I beheld other books, which came forth by the power of the Lamb, from the Gentiles unto them, unto the convincing of the Gentiles and the remnant of the seed of my brethren, and also the Jews who were scattered upon all the face of the earth, that the records of the prophets and of the twelve apostles of the Lamb are true.

40 And the angel spake unto me, saying: These last records, which thou hast seen among the Gentiles, shall establish the truth of the first, which are of the twelve apostles of the Lamb, and shall make known the plain and precious things which have been taken away from them; and shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father, and the Savior of the world; and that all men must come unto him,or they cannot be saved.

it has been so emphasized in our mission to read the book of mormon always. it is a rule that we must read it 30 minutes during personal study and at night before we go to bed! I know that the book of mormon is exactly what these 2 verses say! I know that it is the word of God and truly allow all men to come closer to Christ! Read it every day and strengthen the faith that you already have gained! I love you all and hope you have a great week!

So I must be short this week because of numbers but this week was freaking awesome! Our Christmas conference was awesome! We also had a good amount of baptisms! I am now being transferred my last transfer! haha I guess I will end up with 3 areas here in Brazil! haha I feeling that I will open up a new zone! Whoo we shall see! I will find out tomorrow! But Wherever I might go, I only know one thing! I am going to do what I have always done! I am going to sprint to the finish line and give it all I've got! I know there are still many people I have to find and help! I know this work is true and I will continue with every fiber of being that I've got left. I know the savior lives and He loves everyone of us!

November 24, 2014

Hey everybody it was great to hear from all of you! Monica I loved the pictures and that is sweet that Heather came to visit! also Whoo hoo mom and dad applied for their visas! ha it won't take long to recieve your visas! haha brazil wants you to spend money in brazil! Mom don't worry you are a great teacher! I would like to thank you for the strength that you constant prayers have given me and your great example that you have been in my life! I know that my drive and love to serve the Lord came from all of you! thank you Mom and Dad and the whole family.  Ella it was great to hear about you being able to see the prophet! I know that the feeling you felt of happiness was the spirit testifying to that you were in the presence of a prophet of God!

I won't lie to you all this week. It was really hard! I am really really tired. ha And the assistents put A TON of PRESSURE for these last few weeks, and it has been very tiring. Also on top of that we have Christmas mission conference and our zone has 2 presentations of music and a play that we are doing! haha that week was just incredibly stressful! We also will have the conference in our chapel and so we were setting up all day today on Pday. haha  I am discouraged but I am exhausted! Pray for me this week that We will have the strength to work hard and find those who are ready to receive the gospel! I know that the Lord lives and as we focus on him, we can have the peace in whatever storm, and he will give the strength to fight for that peace when neccessary!

November 17, 2014

Things are good here in Brazil! The zone is going well, but we can always do better! We are kinda at a plateau with Baptisms! Every week we are having 8 baptisms every week for the last three weeks! We will have to give a little boost for the zone this week! But, Something that is cool that our zone is doing is a play for the Christmas mission conference which will be next week! But the work is going well with elder Arevalo, second transfer together, in our area. Sergio one of our investigators was baptized this last week! It was really cool to see him change! For his work he pushes a handcart and collects things to recycle. Generally, people really look down upon those who do this but I was happy that the lord gave me a better vision of Sergio! I know that truly the power of the atonement is real and is readily available to all those who are willing to simply follow!

I didn't find out anyhting about hotels this week and Sister Monteiro didn't really know what vaccines you should take. I really don't think you need them, but do what you two think is right!

Ps Everyone write me please when you are all together for thanksgiving! and send pictures too!

November 10, 2014

Whoo! I will let the secretaries know! I think I still have an adapter for the power, but the majority of the inputs have for both but I will ask! the energy is reliable here. also  I will ask round for a good hotel to stay in! haha everyone will just say but you can just stay with us! Brasilians are so nice! But I will let them know that we need a hotel. Personally about shots, Nobody has gotten yellow fever in our mission because we are not in the amazons but I will ask sister monteiro what she thinks about the local things that you should be prepared for!

This week went by really well! I know that the lord really prepares people! We baptized a woman that had had dreams about the spirit world and the first time we taught her she had a dream with a painting of christ that we used in the lesson! I was a great experience! I know that Lord truly works non stop to help his children progress on this earth! We just simply need to allow him work in our lives! With personal study of the scriptures he writes personal letters for all of us daily. with prayer brings the comfort of the spirit and with serving others he brings the happiness that his plan has to offer! I hope we all can continue the small and simple things!

November 3, 2014

Hey everybody! things are going well here! Mom and Dad, I am really excited for you two to come down! haha let me know whatever I can do to help! I am sorry if you misunderstood what I said about where I am at. ha I am still in the same zone since the very beginning! my first area was pinhais and I was there 10 and half months. I left Pinhais in May and I am still in my second area, Capão da Imbuia, as Zone leader. So I have been in Capão da Imbuia for 6 months! haha I am known as elder fica or Elder stay in the same place. haha But things are going great here! This transfer we have a Awesome group of missionaries! Almost all of the Sister trainer leaders of the mission are in our zone!

Something that the lord helped me to remember this week was to TRULY listen with love! The lord really inspires when we dig deep to help those we serve! Then as we come to know every soul, We can teach to touch somebody's heart with the spirit as we teach!

love you all,

October 27, 2014

Whoo Hoo Spencer and Kellie!!! I hope that you 4 are doing okay because I know now there is ALOT for you 2 to do! But I know that the Lord is truly by your side and Will help you two have the strength that you need to be a good Mom and Dad! my Favorite scripture of all scripture says the following And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. (2 corinthians 12:9-10)
I know that our as we have our weaknesses in trails and changes, we have the chance to truly come to know the enabling power of the Atonement or grace work in our lives!
This week was a good week! we worked really hard! 2 weeks ago we didn't bring anyone to church and so we were knocking doors during gospel principles and still nothing. when we entered into sacrament meeting, there were just two men that just were there. We talked with one after sacrament meeting and he watched a baptism in another ward and decided that he wanted to be baptized! he was Baptized this Sunday! I truly know that in whatever form the Lord has called us, if we fulfill with faith and works, We will be able to accomplish it! I know the savior lives and truly is by our side!

October 13, 2014

the only reason that we need to talk to presidente before is for him not to book my flight! the airport that you will fly into is in the city são Jose dos Pinhais but it is practically the airport of curitiba because it is just on the side of Curtiba. the other thing is that to travel in the city curitiba, you don't have to worry about transport. we can use the bus! but to go to Iguaçu falls, the worlds largest waterfall, it is a little trip. also I have a family that already said that they will take us to the beach! ha we can eat just fine here! food is not expensive. you should get the same shots that I got. WHOO 2 NEW BELL BOYS!! I am really excited to see the pictures!!!

This week was a pretty tough week! We worked and worked and worked and did not have much success this week! ha but our zone had great success this week! I think that the Lord is just helping me be more humble! I know that Humility is the key to have a good life! I have learned alot as I read in Ether this week that it is so easy for all men to fall because of pride! I truly know that we must strive to remember the lord in all things! if we don't do so, we leave space for the enemy to work! May we all be Humble and follow the savior's will! I love you all and I hope you have a good week!

Conference was great wasn't it!? haha Conference is like the super bowl for missionaries!  I love your idea to come and pick me up!!!! that would be Awesome! Haha I already have 2 families that already said if your family comes to pick you up, we will take you to the beautiful beaches in Santa Cantarina! Also in the state that I am in Parana. there are Iguaçu falls which is the largest waterfall in the world! ha so.. it would be great! The date that I finish my mission is the 11th of January. I thought it would be in February but nope.. I know that many missionaries have stayed awhile after the mission when there parents came and got them. I will ask how it works.

I Loved conference! It strengthed my testimony about President Monson and how he truly is a prophet of God! Also Elder Anderson's talk gave a lot of comfort about the increased opposition that is appearing about the Prophet Joesph Smith! I know that Joesph Smith is a Prophet of God! It truly is IMPOSSIBLE to deny the fruits that the Lord Gave Him! Elder Anderson also gave a Key to avoid our doubts. Attend the temple and work with sealings and Read the Book of Mormon! I Know with certainty that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. Also about having Elder Goodoy speak in Portuguese in conference was really awesome! Haha in our chapel we had the church news and they interviewed me about what I thought about it. haha But as for the work, Satan worked really hard this week to stop everyone from being baptized and watching conference! But I know that The Lord is stronger than the enemy and Through our faith and search to do his will, We will prevail!

This week I have time to write! Whoo HOO! I am happy to hear that face is healing up fine dad! Jon I will keep you in my prayers that the pressure sore heals up! Ryan thanks for the email! I know that truly the mission is the most powerful experience i have had so far in my life! Good to hear that addie and gracie are helping with the baby! ha My health is great and I would love to receive some funds in my account!

This last week was really good! Elder Arevalo and I are working well together! He is from peru and has 1 year and 4 months on the mission. He had been serving in Ponta Grossa which is far away city! so I never knew him before. We had a Baptism! Whoo! Her name is Ana and I thought that she was already a member! haha She was incredibly prepared and In Her interview she taught the district leader everything! he left the interview and said, " wow she called me to repentance and to live a better life!" haha Fernando is now the first counselor in the elder's quorum! And evelin has a calling in the young women! She was baptized a month ago! I know I am not a dad yet but i imagine that the feeling of seeing your children grow is a lot like the happiness that you have when your recent converts progress! I am soo thankful for this work! I Love my savior for his strength and cure that he brings into my life and the Lives of others!

Alright well I am very greatful to hear that dad is doing better! Three weeks! WHOO KELLIE it is coming up! Will they be two baby boys, girls, or a boy and a girl? It would be lovely to hear from you, spencer and kellie. Dad you asked about those withdrawals this last week right? two times I had to pay for medicine. One when elder Lima was sick and One when I was sick. Also I bought a new bag and scripture cases so that is where the money went.

ha for the first transfer in 10 months I don't have a greenie. :( ha I will miss the greenie fire. Now I am with Elder Arevalo. He was in Ponta Grosa, a distant city for one year. ha I had never met him before. He is from Peru and has a year and 4 months on the mission.  so this week we had a Seventy that came and visited our stake! It was great! He motivated the members a lot to do Missionary work!!! He also talked a lot about couple missionaries! We now have a couple missionary that is serving in our mission! But Also another cool Fact FERNANDO, Who was baptized last month, and 7 other members of our ward received the Holy Priesthood!! because he had been attending church for 5 months, the bishop felt that Fernando had been well prepared! It just makes me soo happy! The seventy participated in his ordination. He is such a great man and friend! He will serve the Lord very well! Julia, his daughter, always wanted a priesthood man in her home and now the Lord has blessed her with that! I know that The Lord continues forth in his work. As we exercise our faith everyday, Miracles happen with his aid that he gives. We simple need to recognize them! I love you all and hope to hear from you all next week!

Hudson is so cute! and don't that you freak out about the whole bus thing! haha That just means you are a good Mom! Dad haha I happy to hear about your positive thinking! the part swears would be a great a part to loose! haha I will keep you in my prayers and I know that the lord will bless you!

I am very sad this week because elder Lima is leaving Capão. He is being transferred this week. The Zone Had the Best month ever this august with 48 baptisms! I am grateful for the wonderful missionaries in our zone and that I have the Chance to be their leader for one more transfer! But I will really miss elder lima. We worked so well together!!!! But such is life and I will receive my new comp tomorrow and Elder Wright will form a new set here in the same area! It will be great! This week we took 2 of our recent converts to visit the grounds of the temple and Teach there! It was such a great experience! There was a wonderful mom and daughter that were baptized this week! I know that all these blessing truly came from the savior and I am humbled to see all the miracles that have come to pass in these past few weeks! I know that the Lords work continues to move forward and I am so glad to be a part of it! I know that without him I am nothing, But I am SOO very happy that these people have started on the path to come to know the savior! May we strive to continue to come to know him.

September 2, 2014

It was really great to hear from all of you this week! thanks for the update about the kids heather! I bet it is alot easier with all the kids starting up school! haha And it is good that you're friend is going to church! Have they met the missionaries yet? Sister Cropper from your ward returned home this last week. With mike, here are some scriptures you can help mike understand the importance of not drinking. Alma 34: 34-36

This week was filled with many more miracles! The Lord is so involved in this work and I know that he is in every step! This Ward is awesome! We had 3 baptisms in our ward this week and all of them were referrals!!! I know truly the work is moving forward and that the Lord is truly at the head of this work! I know that only through him and the spirit are brought into the fold! I must be short because of the time but I know that the savior lives!

August 25, 2014

Well I hope that everyone is doing okay. I received an email from Monica and my new nephew is here!! Whoo! Just don't let him learn ryan's grumpy face!

this week was a week filled with miracles! Fernando was baptized and confirmed! He had attending church for 6 months with his daughter! My testimony was definitely strengthened about the power of the Book of Mormon! He read the entire book and He knows that without a doubt it is true! It truly changed his countenance which led him to the waters of baptism! Elder Miller and I were able to teach him for the first time in June! It was a powerful experience to teach him!! He will be bishop! Ha he came to church yesterday with a white shirt, suit and tie! haha The Other is Evelin! She is an incredible person! 2 weeks ago she was praying for the Lord to give her a path to take and the next day we knocked her door and asked for a cup of water! we talked with her in the door and she accepted to visit church! the first Sunday in sacrament meeting she asked, "what do I need to do to be baptized in this church?" we taught her afterwards the restoration that Sunday and this Sunday she was baptized! I am so grateful that I have a chance to help the Lord in this glorious work. I learned something incredibly important this week! In 3 Nephi 17 the Savior finishes his teachings and invites the people to return to their homes and ponder. he then says to that he needs to leave and the people started to weep. The Lord then was filled with compassion and healed all their sick and afflicted, and prayed for their children. sometimes as missionaries or as members we sometimes visit others teach the doctrine and that's all. But With the example that the Savior gives, I learned that we can go just a little further and truly mark others for life with the pure Love that the savior wants us to have!! I love you all and hope that I can hear from you all next week!

August 18, 2014

It was great to hear from Izzy Ella, wow you both are very trunky haha, Mom and dad, AND MONICA HAD A BOY! One more member of the bell boys! That is so great! I am thankful that everything went well! How are the twins coming? Our zone is doing Okay! We had 7 baptisms this week! There is so much potential that our zone has! I am so grateful that I have been able to serve in this Zone for so long! haha Tell Tim and Karen that I have been learned a few desserts which are really good but I have to practice! tell them that If they go to church this Sunday, I will make some for them when they get back!

My testimony was strengthened imensly about the Priesthood and that this truly is a Living church! We had lunch with the members yesterday and the husband asked if we could give a blessing. Elder Lima anointed and I sealed the blessing. I truly felt in that moment what the Lord wanted me to say and promise! It was just another confirmation that comes again and again that this is Church of the Master and He has given us Permission to Act in his name! It is through that Power that revelation flows and light is brought into our lives! Also I hope that as we go to church we can really stop and reflect on what the Lord prepared for us! It truly is miraculous how the Lord ALWAYS prepares something just for me to hear! I Love You all and I hope your week goes well!

We will have a Hudson in our family? ha There is a member here who's name is Hudson! Great Name! it is good to here that Mike is progressing! I hope and pray that he can leave these vices behind and follow the savior! How are the missionaries helping? Have fun in the stake Sunday school! I know you can do a lot of good there! you can stop the whole "this is my opinion" gospel from being taught. haha Happy Late birthday Kellie! I am excited for the Shaw girls to make a visit in Idaho! whoo!! Have Fun! So Spencer you asked if training is always like this were we have two trainers and the answer is no. It only happens with Zone leaders. haha

So this week was Long but good week! I honestly think that maybe I am a walking sickness! haha My New companion Elder Lima, From Brasilia, was sick this Last week and we received Elder Thompson who is waiting to open a new area where there is only one member of the church! I am excited for him! But we had a Leadership council and we learned a lot on how to help our zones! We also had a Baptism!! Whoo hoo! Eduarda ou dudah was baptized yesterday! Her family came to watch! This ward is great! I love Capão da Imbua! This Zone is great! We had 10 baptisms this week! Which is a good week! I learned something truly special this week! When we bear our testimony, the place we are at is holy! I have learned that in the midst of turmoil and trails that others have, Our testimonies can truly change their home or in wherever they may stand! I know this to be true! I hope that we never miss the chance to say what we know is true!

It was great to hear that Dad is sharing the gospel! Also The room looks great ryan! É muito bonetinho! How is everyone else doing? the best gift I could get from all of you, the WHOLE family, on my birthday is an email with some pictures!

So this week was a roller coaster! Elder Jones, our most recent child, went home which was really sad to see. We then received Elder Frame, and now elder Miller is sick again and injured his foot we are going to the doctors today. ha with all that happening, Elder Miller and Elder Frame are being transferred tomorrow. Elder Miller will train a new zone leader. I will also receive a new zone leader and we will train! haha lots of changes this transfer! But After all that we had a baptism! Whoo! I know that the Lord lives and Loves every one of us! as we Humble ourselves regardless of whatever accomplishment we have already made, the Lord will guide us protect us and use us as instruments in his hands! On the mission you come to realize that you make a lot of mistakes and that you are not perfect. But the even more important to realize is that you will always have room to improve! The work never ends to improve! Let us be humble and rely on the power of atonement daily! And in doing so we will truly have complete happiness!

July 21, 2014

Holy Crap! President and sister Bowen had 80 missionaries come and see their homecoming? I know that they must of been great leaders! It is good to hear that monica is almost due and that the she is doing well! We might have another august birthday kellie! Whoo!
We had such a beautiful experience this last week! Elder Miller had a family he married and he baptized the wife who were sealed this tuesday! That was truely truely one of the most beautiful things I have seen! I know that there is no greater joy than the joy we share with our father in his work!

It is great to hear that the lesson on baptism inspired you mom to share the gospel! The key to fullfill the responsibility to share the gospel is to find those children of our heavenly father who have been prepared and focus on them! We must always look and search and find those who have been prepared!

My testimony was strengthened about this priniciple this last week! we were searching for those who had been prepared this week! We tried to visit every single person that had been to church this last week! a lot of them were not home and others just had cut us! but in our search for who was prepared for this week we had the miracle! a lady stopped us in the street and said, " my friend is a member of your church and her son wants to be baptized!" Ronaldo was baptized this last sunday! I know that the Lord has prepared many of his children to recieve the gospel! He has prepared so many that we don't have enough time to teach all of them! It doesn't matter where you live, all that matters is that we show our faith and act!  Behold, it was the faith of Nephi and Lehi that wrought thechange upon the Lamanites, that they were baptized with fire andwith the Holy Ghost.
15 Behold, it was the faith of Ammon and his brethren whichwrought so great a miracle among the Lamanites.16 Yea, and even all they who wrought miracles wrought them byfaith, even those who were before Christ and also those who wereafter. 17 And it was by faith that the three disciples obtained a promise that they should not taste of death; and they obtained not the promise until after their faith. Ether 12

I know that there are people ready! Let us go and find them!

I was greatful to hear from mom and dad this week and it was great to get some more photos from monica! President and Sister Bowen have come home already? What that went by fast! ha it is good to hear that they have high tech tools in the states! haha Today we can use our cell phones to call investigators!!! whoo HOO that is high tech for brazil! I will continue to pray for Mike!

this last two weeks were a little rough with our zone! We had 4 baptisms this last week. thoughout my mission The Lord has constantly reminded me that truly it is by small and simple means that the Lord brings to pass his work! the smalest errors can have the greatest impacts! As we focus on our little errors, and repent (or change) we can become the instruments the Lord needs! Nephi, In Helman,  was one who had continually progressed until the point where the Lord said,   And now, because thou hast done this with such unwearyingness, behold, I will bless thee forever; and I will make thee mighty in word and in deed, in faith and in works; yea, eventhat all things shall be done unto thee according to thy word, forthou shalt not ask that which is contrary to my will.  Helman10:5

As we continue in this work, I hope and pray that we can strive with all Diligence to recieve the same trust that Nephi recieved! but remember  And the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his greatand eternal purposes; and by very small means the Lord dothconfound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls. Alma 37
May we strive for the trust of the Lord,

Whoo hoo Happy fourth! haha on friday we had dominos pizza and sang the Star Spangled Banner before we ate! but it is so great to hear that the Bell family reunion has been Fun! I liked the picture With dad, the grandkids, the Lawn Mower! haha and also thank you for sending the recipe for the brownies! I still would really really love it if I could get a picture of the whole fam together! It would be great!

So Things are going well here in Capão da Imbua! We working really hard with a family and Gabrielle's Baptism went really well! She was baptized and Confirmed two weekends ago! Elder Millers health is good now, and the World cup is coming to an end! It will be great to work all the days of the week! I am excited! We will also be going to the temple this tuesday!!!!!!! One of Elder Miller´s recent converts will be endowed! One thing was confirmed this last week to me. I know that really our primary role as members of this church is to take the savior with us! Everywhere you go! It truly is the MOST crucial thing that we can do! in 3 nephi 18 the savior explains:         Therefore, hold up your light that it may shine unto the world.Behold I am the light which ye shall hold up—that which ye haveseen me do. Behold ye see that I have prayed unto the Father, andye all have witnessed.
25 And ye see that I have commanded that none of you should goaway, but rather have commanded that ye should come unto me,that ye might feel and see; even so shall ye do unto the world; andwhosoever breaketh this commandment suffereth himself to beled into temptation.

When doing so those who have been prepared will truly follow the voice of our savior and the Holy Ghost. May we truly follow the Savior and show his light to our neighbors, friends and coeworkers! I love you all!

alrighty so It was great to hear from Heather, Mom, and Dad! I am so excited for all of you to have the whole family together! Dad you you are doing a great job following up with mike! Keep it up!  I am also excited to hear that Mitch Haddon is going on a mission! He will  love the east coast! Tell him to really study hard the first lesson (every Priciple points to the first vision) and read the book of mormon everyday! Heather I really liked your talk! I can't believe everyone is sooo old! haha I liked what Little Spencer said about the fourth of july! haha He is already a missonary!

So about the world cup. the only that it changes is our pdays our on the days when brazil plays, and we have to stay inside during the brazil games but besides that in our area it really hasn't effected us that much. Our zone has been effected a little but not really. Elder Miller was sick again this week! the third time this month! We went to Hospital and now he is feeling better. I hope this is the last time! But Today we will have a baptism!!! We went to the temple and taught a family there on the grounds! It was awesome! I will not write this Monday because today is Pday, but I would to hear from all of you this next week! and take A Family photo so I can show everyone my family here in brazil! Maybe also a good family activity would be to write some letters! :) haha I am needing some more axe hair stuff, deordent, sweaters, and ties as well!

One thing that I have learned and confirmed in these past few weeks is that truly regardless of our situation, the Lord has a way to accomplish his work! Excuses are something that will stop the atonement fully having power in our lives! Helaman in the book of Mormon was really needing supplies and more men to continue to defend the cities that they had taken back from the Lamanites. but, He did not allow this to be an excuse. he said,   37 But, behold, it mattereth not—we trust God will deliver us, notwithstanding the weakness of our armies, yea, and deliver us out of the hands of our enemies.
It is so great to know that the Lord has the Power to do All things and all we have to do is show our faith, and change whatever we need to. May we remember this. 30 O my son, I desire that ye should deny the justice of God no more. Do not endeavor to excuse yourself in the least point because of your sins, by denying the justice of God; but do you let the justice of God, and his mercy, and his long-suffering have full sway in your heart; and let it bring you down to the dust in humility.
Let us be humble and Love the opportunity to repent. I love my savior because he gave us this chance!  Let't use it.
Love

It was great to hear from mom and dad this week! I am happy to hear that dad had a good father's day! I am also very happy that dad went on splits with the missionaries! thank you dad for the example you have given me to stay firm in the truth! I love you!

Please all of you search and pray for those that the lord has prepared to receive the Gospel. Ha I have a funny story about the cup that I would love to share. So, we were in the street trying to make some contacts during the first brazilian game of the world cup. haha NOBODY was in the street. President said that if this happens we should just go home and study for 2 hours. we decided to do so. when were heading back home, Brazil made their first goal. we could tell because of a wave of screams that washed through the neighborhood acompanied by fire works. now the official rule is we have to stay inside during the brazilian games which is about once a week! Mindy could you send the recipe for your brownies!

This week is transfers and elder miller, (he is great health wise by the way) and I are staying together as Zone leaders and We will train another Greenie. Ha he will be our third one thus far!

 http://easter.mormon.org/
I would like to invite all of you to watch this video. It has helped understand just a little bit better really how miraculous the Atonement and Resurrection really are! It really is something that is unfathomable but It is real! I know that the Jesus Christ is my Savior and as we keep to our covenants with all our vigor, we can apply what he did for us! I know this without a doubt. Let us follow him!

June 9, 2014

so it was great to hear from mom and dad this week! I will continue to pray for Mike to continue to progress! he needs to understand that with the closer he becomes to the Savior, the more opposition he is going to face! Satan literally tries EVERYTHING he can do to stop God's children from progressing. If he understand this principle, he will know that anything that is preventing him from fulfilling his commitment with God is from Satan. So we had 4 investigators at church this Sunday. Nilza is the one that is progressing very well! she came to church for the first time and loved it! We are hoping to baptize her this next Sunday! haha another investigator, fernando, has been coming to church for about 6 months now with his daughter and WE GOT AN APPOINTMENT WITH HIM!! whoo hoo!

This week the WORLD CUP starts here in Brazil! it will be a little crazy here! It will be interesting to see what will happen! so Elder Miller has been having some tough weeks this past week! he had swine flu 2 weeks ago and last week he had a stomach virus. ha But today he is good so I am really excited to work really hard again! It has been driving me a little crazy that I haven't been able to work, but it is great that the Lord is teaching me patience. This week in principles of the gospel, we talked about gifts of the spirit. I am so grateful for the gift to know that Christ truly is our Savior! The Holy Ghost has continually testified of this fact, and It is the only thing that has brought peace and happiness that I have needed! I hope that we may all search the that gift which is more precious than any other!

So this picture is our jackets that Fernando our investigator bought for us! He is so great! I want him to be baptized so bad!

June 2, 2014

I was very happy to hear from monica, mom, and dad this week! WHOO HOO the bells went camping on a holiday! that is awesome! it is really good to see that mom and dad are following up really well with mike and helping him come closer to the savior! with the things that you two want taught, have you already talked to the missionaries? they would love to recieve those suggestion! Whoo Hoo family reunion! enjoy being with the whole fam! that is a very special moment! trust me you don't realize it until you have been away for a while! so to tell you about elder miler. he is from california and we have been working together for quite a long time now. he was first my district leader then zone leader and now he is my companion! he only has 2 transfers left until he goes home. He is a great companion, and a great friend.

so this week had a little set back. ha Elder Miller was sick through this week with swine flu. we were inside for a few days and he got some vacines in the butt, but he is good now! But we were blessed abudantly this week! we now have a greenie. (Elder Loyola our otherson got transfered) Elder Linzey is from boston and is learning the language. Elder linzey and I were able to get out a little bit and the Lord guided us to find a wonderful family that went to church this week! as well now that Gabriel was baptized his mom came to church to see him confirmed. haha his 8 year old non member sister got up and bore her testimony. ha It was great! We are teaching his family right now! I felt so blessed that the Lord still provided a way for us to work even with Elder Miller being sick! He is now back to normal. But I learned something this week. the Spirit truly is one of the most precious gifts God has given us! He truly helps us to come to know the savior and Our Father clearly. There is nothing more important to me than to come to know them! John 17:3. May we be a vessel to help others come to know our savior through the spirit!

May 26, 2014

so... I was a little sad today when I realized that practically nobody wrote me this week... But I still love you all!

this Week was one of the most stressful weeks of my mission! Satan really worked hard this week to intervine in the Lord's work. We had 21 children of our Heavenly Father that were going to be baptized in our zone. only 9 of them made it into the water. The great thing about this life is that we just need to search out how to become better! the Lord has given this marvolous church and glorious gospel to become perfected in him! I know that we simply just need to strive to become better servants!    13 Ye are not able to abide the presence of God now, neither theministering of angels; wherefore, continue in patience until ye are perfected. D&C 67:13
our goal is to return and become perfect like our Father and that is a lifelong process! I hope and pray that we all humble ourselves before our savior and allow his Grace to perfect us. I would like to talk about one experience that I had! to bring all these souls unto the savior, we had a zone fast this week to help those that the Lord had prepared to be baptized. we ended our fast and that very night we found a young man that had been attending our ward and seminary for quite awhile. We taught that wednesday night and he said, "I just want to leave my errors and these bad feelings behind and feel what you guys feel." We taught him in three days and he was baptized this sunday by his best friend. I know that people Everywhere are prepared to feel the power of the atonement in there lives. Through FASTING and Prayer with faith, the Lord will lead us to find who is ready to receive him. I know the Lord Lives and Loves us!

May 19, 2014

So it was great to hear from mom and dad this week! Continue to work hard with mike briggs! you had a special regional conference? that is cool that you had a special conference this last week! what did you learn? haha and after all that hard work with in quapps house, it has been all torn out! but that is okay. I think you can get a long way with tim! he talked to me one time about the temple and seem pretty interested!

So I am still Zone leader with elder Miller and our son Elder Loyola. things are going well in our area! we our finding a lot of new investigators and we had a baptism this last sunday! his name is aganaldo. he is 70 years old! after he was baptized he sang for all of us nearer my God to thee. the spirit was really strong not because he could sing that well but because he tried to praise God the best way he could! this last week was amazing! we had a visit from one of the seventy! His name is Moroni Torgon! I learned SOOO much with him! the real key to this work is to Bring the savior unto people! When people feel the presence of the savior with us and if they are the elect they will follow him!  D&C 29: 7 in order to bring the savior to those that we teach, we must repent. there are no excuses in the Lords work. If something is an obstacle we must simply repent and through our faith Miracles will happen! there were so many things that I learned! He was incredibly inspired servant of God! Also Pinhais stake will be using our building to have a visit form member of the Area presidency! (Elder Soares) whoo hoo!  this week the Lord has set a goal for the mission to baptize 232 souls. If through this week you could pray for Tarumã (tar-ru-mah) Zone that would be awesome! :)

It was awesome to see you all yesterday and that you are all doing so great! And that is SOOOO Cool that Jeff came and stayed for dinner! WHOO Hoo I hope he felt apart of the family! if it be possible maybe I could get his email because spain is pretty far away to send a letter! haha It's a deal, I will stop once and awhile to have a candy bar! I will send pirtures next week!

This week was a little difficult just because of finally being transfered and all the changes but The work will go forth and our trio is great! really as I have pondered about this week, I confirmed something that is very important in Preaching the Gospel! The most important thing that we can do to teach effectivly of friends and neighbors is to listen! through this the spirit will give you what you need to say! Listen and guide the conversations that you have with people everyday and the spirit will help you identify what part of the gospel they need to hear! I know that will worthiness and with an open heart to listen, We cannot fail in the service of the Lord! I love you all and Keep your faith in the savior!

May 5, 2014

This week it was really great to hear from all of you! Especially Spencer! Whoo Hooo Batismo! Don't you have that good feeling? To know that you helped someone enter into the path that the savior has given us. it is a happiness that really doesn't have words to describe! As well mom and dad that is awesome that Mike Briggs is coming to church! Whoo Hoo! You two are doing a huge thing with him! is he as being taught by the missionaries? And thank you for the money you put in my account!  I am also happy that you are studying preach my gospel throughly! Chap. 11 will help you focus more on the most effective way to call repentence! It is awesome! It is the MOST critical point of missionary work! Oh man Ryan is so right also! I only Have 10 MONTHS left! it has gone by so quickly! but, I am not done yet! Mothers day 3 o'clock your guys time sound good? Just send me the email I can connect with on skype!

So I am leaving My second Home ward, Pinhais! I am sad because it has been so marvoulous to see all the Recent Converts progress so well, but I know at the same time there are those that are waiting for me to come to the new area to help them come unto the savior! But this final week was a week full of happiness! we are reactivating a family and their son was baptized and as well Ana Paula was baptized! I felt at peace that I was able to stay long enough to see her baptized! Elder Flores and I found her in february! Elder Foster is improving his portuguese much faster than I did! And The TEMPLE was so GREAT! I have been able to understand much more about the Father's plan and it was great to remember my convenants that I have made with the Lord! Covenants are the power that drives us to follow our savior! I know God lives! His work and his love have never ceased! I have shared this scripture probably but It is how I feel: Alma 36:24   Yea, and from that time even until now, I have labored without ceasing, that I might bring souls unto arepentance; that I might bring them to btaste of the exceeding joy of which I did taste; that they might also be cborn of God, and be dfilled with the Holy Ghost
May we be filled with that joy and Share it so the Joy may not cease but continue on! I love you all!

April 22, 2014

It was once again great to hear from Dad this week! thank you for your testimony about the Saviors Atonement! I know that we all have been called to stand as a witness of our Savior and I hope that we do so! So with mike did you have the opportunity to teach him with the missionaries? Our investigators did come to church! continue to pray for that Our district can have the capacity to teach with power and authority and that we may have the gift of discernment!

Whoo Hoo my new son has arrived! Haha and actually he is American. He was only born in Haiti and is adopted! Ha and now at mission conferences my head wants to explode because I am translating for him. haha the other really cool thing is that he served in Utica New York and was trained by one of my friends there! His name is Elder Foster! This week I have reflected a lot on the power of faith! I know that miracles can be realized as we have faith in our Savior! Whether it be for the well being of our family, sharing the gospel with a neighbor, or leaving behind our own sins! Miracles can happen everyday in our lives as we permit them to happen. the real question is how? We must be persistent, without doubt, and show our desire by our works. I have already had many instances here and before my mission that has shown that only through our works and the grace of the Savior can great things come to pass! I continually hope to grow my faith. I hope and pray that throughout this week we may all think about how we can show our faith in the Savior. He gave everything for us and continues to do so! May we show our faith and act!

Ps I would love to here from the rest of you! :)

April 28, 2014

Okay so this week was awesome! Ella you don't have to worry about the ward spliting! You know what it means? you are just going to have invite more non members to mutual and introduze them to the missonaries! :) I promise you that the happiness is HUGE when you help other know what you know to be true!  It was great to hear from Monica with all the pictures and Nice moves ryan cleaning the shower! haha yes I liked the things for the baby boy! Whoo Hoo! It is great to see how you all look since it has been a little while since I saw everyone! Mom It is funny that you talk about the russian couple this week because Tomorrow we will FINALLY go to the temple! I am so EXCITED! And well Dad I am so happy to hear that Mike went to church! Whoo and Bishop Baczuk is really helping out in his progress! so Mother is coming! it is on the 11th of may! When would be a good time to call? I will have 45 minutes. and as well because I will be going to the temple tomorrow, if you could put a little bit of money on my card, it would be great! :) they have a store at the temple.

So Mom asked about how it is going with the changes with companions. But, really it is good! Elder Foster, who is from Michigan, is very humble, excited, and supportive! That is the thing I love about training a new missionary! they have that Greenie Fire! It has been great serving with him but I am not sure if I will finish his training. transfers are coming up next week and after 10 months, I don't think I have much of a chance to stay in Pinhais! But we shall see this coming week! this week I was reminded how blessed we are. The Lord simply asks us to do little things everyday! and it is through those Little things that people can stay on course. Reading your scriptures, speaking with the Lord, and serving others gives us the force to withstand all forces of Satan. May we willing do these simple things and see miracles come to pass! I testify that as you do these things the Spirit with fill every part of life and that is the greatest gift, to Feel the love of God in your life!

April 14, 2014

So it was great to hear from mom and dad this week! I hope and pray that mike will continue to progress! The Cannery is a great way to help him out but even more, I would focus on helping him get to church. Help him understand the doctrine! Some great scriptures to use would be haggai 1: 2,5,6,7,9,10 it teaches the principle that is taught in D&C 59, leviticus 26:2-12, Matt.6:31-33, Jacob 2 18-19, alma 1:25 29-31 (read the context of this chapter), 3 Nephi 18. I know that obeying this commandment, The Sabbath Day, is the basic to help us obey all of them! another thing, if you have doubts how can you expect Mike to have faith that he can change? That is something that all of us need to have for others. Hope! I know that the Atonement is more powerful than any vice that satan will be able to create! We just have to have faith, hope, and act!

Things are going really great! Elder Lima and I will receive our new missionaries tomorrow! Whoo hoo! We are now dividing our investigators up between the two sets of missionaries! This best news of this last week was that Diago was Baptized! He is really excited to serve a mission! And his aunt and uncle are returning to the church at the same time! I truly love the wonderful feeling that comes as I see others come unto the savior! I know that as we have our lives in order with the Lord and bring others unto him, It is impossible not to feel happy! I know that He loves everyone and I hope to do the same! Continue forward and the Light you have to all! I would Love to hear from all of you this coming week! Boa Pascoa!

April 7, 2014

Well I will have one more nephew!! whooo One more man to carry one the Bell boy legacy! Sorry monica and ryan I wasn't able to open up your video you sent! Mas para bens para vocês! I am incredibly happy to hear that Mike Briggs went to Rehab and Mom and Dad I will continue to pray that he will learn the amazing Power of the Atonement! Maybe you could David a Bednar's talk to read. So Family as of right now I am studying in chapter 11 in preach my gospel! Elder Ballard taught the power of following up clearly and direct! I hope to improve the way that the Lord has given us to call repentence to his children! I would love to hear what you are all studying in preach my gospel this next week! Mom and dad chapter 9 is great way to find Investigators for these sisters you now have!

So haha something really funny happened! Elder Lima Neto, who served in Pinhais centro for 8 months, returned to serve with me for this week! the following week we will have 2 greenies arrive! Haha I will train a haitian! Whoo there are so many Haitians here.it will be great to work with him!  I can pick a little bit of creeol or french to teach! haha It will be interesting. Also Elder Lima and I are working great together! We have many great people here! Diago moved his own baptismal date from the end of April to this friday! Whoo! Conference was incredible! Iknow all of those who spoke are called of God! It seemed that the underlining tone was About obedience for many of the talks that were given! I truly know that all blessings that we receive are based on our obedience! Also that as come to fully know the power that atonement has to offer, we can have the "traction" we need to move forword and not get stuck! This is the greatest age in the history of the world! we must remember to take advantage of all the things that will prepare us for eternity! I love my savior and I know that He Lives! I am so greatful that we all have the chance to get to know him as we simply fill our liveswith things that testify of him! May we show our love for him by continuing LOVING and SERVING those around us!

April 1, 2014

It has been great to hear from all of you this week! sorry our Pday was changed this week because of transfers! Mom and Dad I am happy to hear about Mike Briggs! I have continualy prayed for him throughout this last week that the Lord may bless him with the strength to change! Ryan Meu Irmão, realmente português é bem parecido com espanol! O Primeiro coisa você deve fazer é comprar uma copia do Livro De Mórmon em português! AND WHOOOOO KELLIE IS PREGNANT with TWINS! That is soo great to hear! Ha just remember to keep calm and carry on!  Update on those you all were praying for: Paulas family is returning to activity and her sister Emanuely is progressing towards baptism! the rest did not progress but humbly continue to pray that the Lord may bless Emanuely, Luciano, Rianee and Claudinie throughout this week!

I don't believe it but I will stay one more transfer! haha after 9 months in the same area, I will train one more missionary and we will have 2 companionships again! It will be great! haha It was actually pretty hilarious on Sunday before we found out about transfers. I was taking photos with all the recent converts, "Our mother" in the ward cried, and one recent convert bought a tie as a going away present. haha But, during lunch, we found out that I will stay and Elder Flores and Elder Pereira will be transfered. I was not expecting that at all but it is incredibly simple! There are still MANY people that Are waiting for me to knock on their door! I know that this transfer will be the real test! There are still many souls to help enter into the kingdom here in Pinhais! Today I read in Alma 17: 2 I Noticed something incredubly imortant in this verse.  yea, by the power of their words many were brought before the altar of God, to call on his name and confess their sins before him.
I know that as the Lord is hastening his work, and as we diligently seek to have his words within us, the power of the words we say can change the lives of all those around us! I know He is with us and we never have to fear to share with everyone the Glorious Restoration of His Gospel. I Love Him and humbly seek to follow his command with all diligence! I love you all!

Continue firm in the Faith!

March 24, 2014

It was great to hear from Mom, Dad, and Ryan this week! haha Justin Sumsion is already going on a mission!? that is insane! Everyone is growing up a little too fast. Addie is 5 and Justin Sumsion is going on a mission! It is amazing how time has gone so fast! I will pray for Mike during this week so that he can go to rehab! is he going to church or reading the Book of Mormon? that would be the key for him to receive the spiritual strength to change! I would love to hear from Mindy to see how things are going there in Arizona! Mom it is great to hear that you have so much youth going to the temple! tell ALL the youth in the ward that going to the temple is such a privilege and they should not miss the opportunity to go! How I miss the House of my Savior! Ryan talvez si eu vou escrever em portuguese, você pode aprender uma terceira linguá! Tem interesse? haha deborah did not progress and because of her boyfriend she lost interest to change for the better. Simply pray for us to be filled with the power of the spirit and capacity to help the following come unto Christ: Kelvin, myara, (ty)-(ise), paula's family, Miriam, and Jonas! Also that we can find many more souls who are ready to receive the gospel!

As of right now I am pretty sure this will be the last week in Pinhais! ha After 9 months of the same area, I think it is my time! But we shall see! As of right now, I am still in a trio! this week was just full of opposition, but I know that that just means that miracles are on the horizon! I know that truly as we follow the will of our father, we can do all things that he would have us do! we can simply know what his will is by listening and following the spirit! following the spirit requires lots of study, prayer, and action on what he shows us! just as lantern lights the path at night, the spirit with righteousness lights the path of eternal life! May we be clean and pure so that spirit can guide us in our paths of life!

March 17, 2014

Hello family! It was awesome to hear from so many of you this week! Mom and Dad it is great to hear that the missionary spirit is still burning strong! Couple missionaries are awesome! We don't have any here in Curitiba but we did have in New York and they were great! We had a few that were in the office and they helped a bunch with the coordination of cars and money and mail which is really helpful! also had some that were assigned to a ward in Albany and really worked out in the field! The cool thing about couple missionaries is the can really serve in so many different ways! Mom I glad you are thankful for the spirit because without him I am certain I have zero capacity to teach! Yeah Baptisms in the Temple! I hope to one day enter into the temple of curitiba! Deborah is having difficulties because of her boyfriend, but continue to pray for her! As well Adriana is progressing! We made goals with her to stop smoking and see is reading the book of mormon! Keep praying for her! Jon Happy Birthday! this year of Life will be Awesome! Izzy I am VERY happy to hear that you are already seeing a difference! I have no doubt that the reason I am where I am Today all started when I made the decision to study the scriptures very day!   And know that the Lord God will consecrate my prayers forthe gain of my people. And the words which have written inweakness will be made stronunto them; for it apersuadeth themto do good; it maketh known unto them of their fathersand itspeaketh of Jesus, and persuadeth them to believe in him, and toendure to the end, which is life beternal.I know that this scripture is true! The word of God is his way to persuade us or guide us to be good!

This week was Great! We had one of the seventy here and he changed ALOT of the things! haha But it was all changes for the better! We are now putting a even higher focus on The Book of Mormon and working with the Members! I so very greatful for things that I had been praying that had been answered! I know that the Lord has always answered! And He always will! there is something important that I learned recently that I would like to share! It is impossible to apply the healing power of the atonement without serving those around us! President Eyring said King Benjamin told his people in the Book of Mormon of the joy that comes from feelinforgiveness from sin through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Then he taught them that to retain remission of their sins, they must teach their children to serve one another and they must be as generous as thecould to meet the temporal and spiritual needs of those around them. (See Mosiah 4:11–16.)
I humbly know that as we really serve those around us, we can see ourselves changing through the service we give to others! The Atonement takes effect and the spirit purifies as we continue to serve and live righteously! I hope that we can truly "forget ourselves and Go to work" and SERVE
